Brown Lands Pitcher of the Week Honors

MACON, Ga. – Jacksonville University softball's Victoria Brown was named the Atlantic Sun Pitcher of the Week Monday. The conference accolade comes a few days after the senior righty threw her first career no-hitter.

"Victoria has really embraced recreating herself in the circle this season and has a strong desire to help get our team to the top of the league," said Head Coach Jennifer Steele. "Her commitment is evident, as she continues to have great outings against quality clubs. I'm proud of her results so far and they will only continue to get better, leading to more wins for our program."

Brown tallied an impressive week against Power-5 competition. Throwing her first career no-hitter against ACC foe Pittsburgh, she retired all but two of the 26 Panther hitters she faced, and followed up that performance with a 6-0 victory over the Big Ten's Penn State.

After ending the week in a 9-1 win over Georgetown, Brown boasted a 3-2 record with a 2.05 ERA in three complete games.
