JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Head Coach Jennifer Steele announced the addition of Libby Morris to her staff Thursday (June 23). The former standout, who was coached by Steele at Longwood, will join the Jacksonville University softball program as a graduate assistant manager.
While at Longwood, Morris assisted the Lancers to a pair of Big South Championship titles in 2013 and 2015. Her illustrious pitching career included 61 games won, and was highlighted by a 21-win season with Steele. She was a two-time Big South Conference Tournament Most Valuable Player (2013, 2015), a Second Team Big South Conference selection (2014), and a VASID All-State honoree (2013).
"I'm thrilled to have Libby join us down here in Jacksonville while she continues her education," said Steele. "She is familiar with me and my expectations, and we work together very well. She will be an invaluable resource to our student athletes, as they will benefit being around a fiercely competitive and successful former student-athlete."
Morris graduated in 2015 with a degree in sociology and worked as a Family Services Specialist with the Bedford Department of Social Services. She will be pursuing a Master of Science in Leadership and Learning.
