LAKEPOINT, Ga. – Senior Ashtyn Hiron is starting the 2018 season out on a high note as the midfielder for Jacksonville University women's lacrosse was named the ASUN Conference Player of the Week, as announced by the league Tuesday.
The ASUN Preseason Player of the Year tallied five goals to lead the Dolphins to a 14-9 victory in the team's season opener against Michigan last Sunday, Feb. 11. A Perth, Western Australia native, Hiron converted on 1-of-2 free position shots and had a trio of ground balls, caused turnovers, and draws in the victory.
Additionally, Hiron leads the ASUN in goals per game (5.00) and caused turnovers (3).
Hiron and the rest of the Dolphins return to action this Saturday, Feb. 17 when they welcome Notre Dame to D.B. Milne Field for a 1 p.m. contest.
