JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville University men's and women's cross country teams hit the road to Tallahassee for Friday's FSU Invitational at Apalachee Regional Park. The men's 8,000-meter race begins at 7:40 a.m., while the women race the 5,000-meter course at 8:20 a.m.
Among the competition spanning all three division, NAIA, and NJCAA, the Dolphins will face Florida, the host Seminoles, Jacksonville State, Florida A&M, and South Florida.
At last year's FSU Invitational, the men finished fourth behind sophomore Alex Turnock's team-leading time of 27:51.1. Turncock has already improved on his result from this time last year, as he led the Dolphin contingent two weeks ago at Florida's UF Mountain Dew Invitational with a time of 27:29.8.
The women finished last year's FSU Invitational third overall as junior Nora McUmber placed fourth out of 173 runners in the women's 5K in 17:53.4. Senior Caitlin Marino added a 14th-place finish overall in 18:30.4.
The Dolphins return to action next week when they head to Tampa for the USF Invitational on Friday, Oct. 13.
